How long will they survive?
People with achondroplasia are able to live a normal life. However, infants under 2 years old with this disease have an increased risk of death. Spinal and cranial issues would create a serious problem throughout a diseased persons life, though. Diseased people that survive after infancy can live a happy life with little difference with that of an average height person. The average height of an adult patient is about 4 foot 2 inches. There are even some famous people that live with achondroplasia. Someone might say that they are normal people, in a little body.
